March 6, 2009 New updates after almost 8 months?! Yes! I haven't done much but I've decided to come back to this site. I took some time away from it to focus on school and another project I've been working on called Puppy Life! Its a puppy web game created by me! If you like this site, please take a minute to look at it. I'm not really sure what to add to the site except a better message box. If you have any suggestions, please comment in the box! June 16th, 2008. Sorry for the empty character database the past day and a half... I decided to use the database from Xanthians.com and so I emptied out my database and entered the new information. Database-Driven Xanth: So the name of the site is XanthDb which is short for Xanth Database. That's because the goal of this site is to be a "database-driven" website. This means that the information for all the characters is stored on a database server rather than just on webpages like normal websites. Because it's stored on a database server, we are able to make customizable lists that are sortable and easy to view. The information in the database can be viewed in many different ways without having to write the html for every page. If you're confused and want to know more, look up database-driven websites in a search engine and you'll probably find more help. Updated June 14th, 2008. So I've done a little bit more with the character database. It's now sortable by the first letter of characters names. I haven't completely inserted all the characters into the database yet(I think I stopped at around V). The Forum was added yesterday and I made a quick layout change with the banner above. Besides a few minor changes, I think the layout will stay like this for a while. As for me... I'm in the middle of Castle Roogna. I haven't been reading much lately because I've ordered Centaur Isle from Amazon.com and am waiting for it to arrive. I don't like to wait in between books. Updated June 7th, 2008.
